Have a qualified person assess roof condition, structural capacity, mounting, waterproofing and maintenance access before installation. Shade changes over time and can reduce output more than a single photograph suggests.

Inspect before panels cover the area

Record existing joints and leaks, roof age and major-repair plans. Removing panels for later roof work adds cost. Specify waterproofing responsibility in the contract.

Shading and heat differ by home

Request year-round shading assessment for trees, buildings and obstructions, plus production assumptions. The calculator’s shade input is an average reduction, not a simulation of actual roof shadows or string wiring.

Use documents and qualified inspection

Request photographs before panels cover the work and system test records, especially wiring, connectors and waterproofing. Do not climb roofs or open electrical equipment without appropriate expertise.
